A new pop-up event, "Ace Backpack Lab," is opening at the 3rd floor of Tokyu Department Store Kichijoji (Musashino, Tokyo) for a limited time from March 3 (Tuesday) to March 29 (Sunday), 2026. The event is designed for anyone who has struggled to find a backpack that truly fits, offering expert consultations and a hands-on fitting experience using a specially developed measuring device.

The event brings together backpacks from a variety of Ace-operated brands under one roof, including the functional commuter line ace., as well as UNTRACK, Kanana Project, and EDGELINK. Staff with extensive knowledge of backpacks will be on-site throughout the event to listen to visitors' needs — whether about intended use, storage requirements, or carrying comfort — and help them find the right product.
From March 14 to 22 and on March 28 and 29, certified Backpack Fitters will use a specially developed backpack measuring device to provide personalized fitting sessions. Using the measurement results, staff will recommend the most suitable shoulder harness type from the four options included in the ace. business backpack "Gadgetable DP2 4U," allowing visitors to experience the difference a properly fitted backpack makes.
On March 14 and 15, Dr. Zenta Wakō (Doctor of Engineering), who led the development of both the "4U Harness" and the "Universal Harness," will personally conduct the measurements and consultations. Fitting sessions require advance reservations.
The "Ace Backpack Lab" aims to shift backpack selection from a simple purchase to a full experience, exploring new value-adding possibilities for retail spaces.

About the Universal Harness
The Universal Harness is a shoulder harness designed based on actual measurement data, optimized to fit as many users as possible. A dedicated backpack measuring tool was developed, and both male and female monitors were measured in large numbers to determine average harness shapes, attachment positions, and angles. The Universal Harness is incorporated into a wide range of products, including the ladies' business backpack "Fittem" and the casual daypack "CITY/DS."
