Painter Ado (Makiko Watanabe)

Ado (Makiko Watanabe)
Ado draws on Japanese washi paper using oil pastels, colored pencils, and pencil, then finishes each piece with a pastel coating. She spent two months in Kenya as a student, and after graduating, worked as contract staff at the Kumamoto City Zoo and Botanical Garden before becoming a painter. With a broad interest in living creatures, she explores understanding and depicting the nature of living things.
