A new action sports shop, Murasaki Park Arc Town Utsunomiya, is set to open on Saturday, March 28, 2026, inside "Arc Town Utsunomiya," a large urban sports complex being developed by Utsunomiya City in Tochigi Prefecture. The facility is directly connected to the Hiraishi stop on the LRT "Light Rail" line, just 13 minutes from Utsunomiya Station.

About Arc Town Utsunomiya
"Arc Town Utsunomiya" is the nickname for the 東部総合公園 (East General Park), a vast site of approximately 3.6 hectares developed by Utsunomiya City. It is positioned as a next-generation sports hub within easy reach of the Tokyo metropolitan area.
The park features a covered, all-weather skateboard park supervised by former Japan national team coach Nishikawa. The concrete park includes both a street section and a park section, catering to everyone from beginners to advanced riders. A dedicated BMX freestyle park built with the specialized material "Skate Lite" is also on site. Additionally, a covered all-weather multipurpose plaza equipped with a large monitor can host 3x3 basketball, various other sports, and diverse events regardless of weather. A large central lawn area provides a relaxing community space where activities such as yoga are also available.
On the grand opening day of March 28 (organized by Utsunomiya City, planned and operated by Murasaki Sports), an opening event will be held featuring free skateboard and BMX experience sessions and trial rides, demonstrations by professional riders, a performance by Utsunomiya's professional breaking team "ARIYA," food trucks, and workshops for children.
Murasaki Park Arc Town Utsunomiya
The store occupies a compact 40-tsubo (approximately 132 m²) space adjacent to the skateboard park and BMX park. Despite its size, it is stocked with a concentrated selection of action sports gear for sale and rental, and also houses the park's reception counter for park entry, schools, and rentals.

The store also focuses on showcasing the appeal of Tochigi Prefecture and Utsunomiya, offering local Utsunomiya sweets, Utsunomiya gyoza as souvenirs, exclusive original goods and limited-edition merchandise available only at this location, and even a selection of vintage clothing.

Cafe "Kohi Murasaki"
Attached to the store is the cafe "Kohi Murasaki" (珈琲紫). The roots of Murasaki Sports trace back to a predecessor coffee shop called "Jun Kissaten Murasaki," and after 50 years, the brand was revived as "Kohi Murasaki" in Ueno, the company's founding neighborhood. The Arc Town Utsunomiya location will be the fourth branch, joining existing cafes in Ueno, Miyazaki Aoshima, and Yamagata Zao.
The cafe's original-blend coffee has earned high praise, and the Ueno location alone records approximately 6 million Google searches annually, drawing visitors from both Japan and overseas. At Arc Town Utsunomiya, the cafe aims to offer a moment of relaxation for action sports enthusiasts, families, and local residents alike.
