Enjoy Cherry Blossoms at Roppongi's "Kakoi" — Special Hanami Course Starting March 23

From March 23 to April 12, 2026, Toriyaki to Torinabe Kakoi (鳥焼と鳥鍋 囲, pronounced "Kakoi"), a chicken cuisine restaurant in Roppongi, is hosting a limited-time cherry blossom event. Now in its third year, the annual spring event invites guests to enjoy meticulously prepared yakitori and seasonal dishes while taking in full-window views of Somei Yoshino cherry trees. Reservations opened on March 3, 2026.

Cherry Blossoms Framed Like a Painting

The concept behind Kakoi's hanami event is "borrowed scenery" (借景) — using the restaurant's large windows as a frame to showcase the cherry trees outside as if they were a living painting. The spring program aims to offer an immersive experience where guests can appreciate the fleeting beauty of the season alongside carefully crafted yakitori.

Three Seasonal Experiences

1. View — Cherry Blossoms by Day and Night

The restaurant's large windows offer unobstructed views of the Somei Yoshino trees outside.

  • Daytime (fully private reservation): Soft sunlight filters through the cherry blossom petals in a completely private setting.
  • Evening: Lit-up cherry blossoms provide a dreamlike nighttime backdrop for a relaxed adult dining experience.

2. Dining — Special Hanami Course

A limited full-course menu is available, centered around the restaurant's signature yakitori and accented with seasonal ingredients and cherry blossom touches.

  • Price: From ¥6,500 (tax included)
  • Menu highlights: Carefully grilled premium yakitori, cherry blossom-themed dishes, and spring-inspired desserts.

3. Drinks — Limited Spring Lineup

A selection of cherry blossom-colored cocktails and carefully chosen sake labels complement the seasonal dishes. An all-you-can-drink plan is also available for groups.

About the Restaurant

Kakoi is a chicken-specialty restaurant in Roppongi, born from a collaboration between Yoshitomo Ishii of the Michelin one-star restaurant "Torisho Ishii" and food activist Miemon Mitomi. The menu features casually served yakitori (grilled without skewers) and a collagen-rich chicken hot pot made from chicken stock simmered for six hours.
