Footwear brand SHAKA has partnered with RADIO EVA on a collaborative collection celebrating the 30th anniversary year of Neon Genesis Evangelion's TV broadcast. The collaboration is part of RADIO EVA's "THE 30" project and features three models based on SHAKA's OTTER TRAIL AT sneaker-sandal.
The base silhouette for the collection is the OTTER TRAIL AT SECOND WAY — a customized evolution of the original OTTER TRAIL AT that merges the lightness of sports sandals with the stability of sneakers, now fitted with a detachable heel strap for a 2-way design. It can be worn as a sneaker-sandal or a slide sandal, offering flexible styling to suit different occasions.
The collection covers three colorways, each inspired by a different Evangelion unit: EVA-00 (Unit 00), EVA-01 (Unit 01), and EVA-02 (Unit 02). Rather than reproducing each unit's colors outright, the palette has been reconstructed from a fashion perspective, arriving at refined designs suited for everyday wear. A special heel strap printed with the unit's designation is added to each model, and the tape end parts and metal hook hardware incorporate phosphorescent material that glows faintly in the dark — a nod to the world of Neon Genesis Evangelion.
The key visual artwork for the collaboration is a specially commissioned illustration that incorporates SHAKA's brand concept of "travel."
All three models go on sale on Saturday, March 7, 2026, through the SHAKA online store, the RADIO EVA online store, and select retailers. Pre-ordered items begin shipping the same day.
Each purchase includes a novelty sticker featuring the collaboration's key visual illustration as a bonus gift.
