The key visual has been released for Yuzuru Hanyu "REALIVE" an ICE STORY project. The event features Yuzuru Hanyu as both performer and executive producer, building on the foundation of his "ICE STORY" works to bring previously created programs back to life — through his current body — as a one-day-only live performance.
Yuzuru Hanyu, two-time Olympic gold medalist (2014 Sochi and 2018 PyeongChang), shared the following message:
"The programs we've created together and lived with have no doubt taken on life within each of you, intertwined with your own memories. In this era, even without being live, they can be watched again and again, reaching so many people. I'm genuinely happy that my programs have become living presences in that way. That's why I want you to feel that every second of this world — never to be repeated — is alive, right here, right now. So that programs that can never be the same twice reach each person's unique sensibilities. I will skate with my soul and all of my strength through my current body, to deliver programs that can only be performed on that day, in that place, at that moment."
"And I hope my programs will breathe and live alongside your new breath, your memories, and your feelings."
Director MIKIKO commented:
"This performance was conceived to mark the milestone of Hanyu-kun's restart. It will be a live event in which he — an athlete and performer who continues to evolve and mature — rewrites his own 'up until now' and presents his 'from here on.' I hope audiences will experience this performance as a time to imagine the possibilities of where he is headed as a performer. We on the production side are also engaging with his determination and resolve as we carefully build this experience."
