Itinerary
Begin your evening tour at Gion Shijo Station with a guided walk through Kyoto’s renowned Gion district. Learn about the unique culture of geiko (Kyoto’s term for geisha) and the district's history. Gain insight into the evolution of Kyoto's evening entertainment, including modern hostess clubs. This tour is informative and suitable for teens and older participants.
After an hour of cultural exploration, enjoy regionally inspired dishes and a drink (beer, shochu, or sake). Dietary preferences and tastes are gladly accommodated.
Stroll through Kyoto's diverse restaurant and entertainment districts west of the Kamogawa River, including Pontocho, Kiyamachi, and Kawaramachi. Experience the blend of traditional and modern culture, showcasing Kyoto's respect for heritage and embrace of the present.
We'll visit a second, highly recommended restaurant for more delicious dishes and drinks. The evening wraps up with a deeper appreciation of Kyoto's cuisine, nightlife, and unique atmosphere.
