Kobe Portopia Hotel is rolling out two limited-time spring takeout items for enjoying the outdoors: a hotel-made Picnic Box and the "Kobe Tamura Spring Flavor Bento Sumire (菫)," available for a picnic in the parks surrounding Port Island.
The area around the hotel has several parks well-suited for outdoor dining. Port Island South Park, just a 5-minute walk from the hotel, features a symbolic fountain, a grass plaza, and large play equipment modeled after Port Tower and cruise ships, making it a great spot for families with young children. Poai Shiosai Park, about a 5-minute drive away, was built along the island's western shore to commemorate the 140th anniversary of Kobe's port opening, and offers views of the glittering spring sea along with the "BE KOBE" monument.

The Picnic Box includes two types of sandwiches, roast beef, sea bream fritto, pork loin piccata, chirimen jako Spanish omelette, spicy sautéed shrimp, sausage, smoked duck, tomato farfalle, and french fries, along with seasonal fruit, Earl Grey marble cake, and a Caesar salad (served separately).

Kobe Tamura Spring Flavor Bento Sumire (菫)
Price: ¥5,000 per serving (¥4,500 for Oval Point Program app members)
The "Kobe Tamura Spring Flavor Bento Sumire" is a colorful bento from the hotel's Japanese restaurant that showcases seasonal spring ingredients.
Contents:
- Appetizers (口取り): Baby ayu tempura, conger eel wrapped in burdock, warbler castella, and 7 other items
- Fish Dish: Spanish mackerel yuzu-an grilled, pickled ginger, and decorative lotus root
- Simmered Dishes: Canola flower shinoda roll, shrimp simmered in the style of shibani, sea bream roe, baby taro, and more

A 5-minute walk from the hotel. The park features a landmark fountain, a spacious lawn area, and large play equipment themed after Port Tower and cruise ships — a good spot for families with small children.
Poai Shiosai Park
About a 5-minute drive from the hotel. Built along the western shore of Port Island to mark the 140th anniversary of Kobe's port opening, the park offers views of the harbor and passing cruise ships, along with the "BE KOBE" monument.

Shuttle Bus Access to Other Spots
For those looking to explore beyond Port Island, the hotel operates shuttle buses to other Kobe destinations. Buses to the waterfront area including TOTTEI PARK and the theatrical aquarium "atoa" stop near Kobe Customs, with departures at :00, :20, and :40 during the 10 AM, 1 PM, and 4 PM hours (3 buses per hour group).
The shuttle also runs to Shin-Kobe, providing access to Nunobiki no Taki waterfall and Kobe Nunobiki Herb Garden.
