This time I took the sightseeing train called “Berumonta” (Belles Montagnes et Mer) to Himi & Amaharashi 🚞 Had luxury experience of riding the train while enjoying sushi made by sushi chef🍣 Walking through the bustling Himi Banyagai was a lot of fun 🤤 Taking a footbath and looking out at the ocean, it was just a day trip where the scenery healed me 🌊♨️ Please refer to this page when you visit Himi & Amaharashi✨🌿

Travel Itinerary

10:01am Shin-Takaoka Station

This trip started from Shin-Takaoka station! Board the Berumonta 1 sightseeing train bound for Himi from the Jōhana Line boarding platform!

10:56am Himi Station

After arriving at Himi Station, head for “Himi Banyagai”

Himi Station is a transportation facility located in Himi City, Toyama Prefecture, and is the terminal station of the West Japan Railway (JR West) Himi Line. There is also a tourist information center for Himi and the surrounding area. It also sells local specialties, and visitors can head to Michi no Eki Himi Banyagai.

11:30am Himi Banyagai

I walked about 25 minutes from station to here! There was a souvenir corner and food court. There were also seafood, western food and sweets shops🐟🍴🍮

11:40am Himi Purin

I found a very cute pudding store in Himi Banyagai🍮 Two very rich and delicious puddings, I finished them off in only a few bite🤤✌️

Himi Purin, located in Himi Banyagai, specializes in handmade puddings. Using locally grown ingredients, you can taste puddings that can only be found here, which are a feast for the eyes as well as the taste buds.

12:20pm Himi Banyagai Footbath

I took a walk nearby and found a natural footbath ♨️ The footbath with a view of the sea is great🌊

12:50pm Himinoe Park Observatory

There was an observation deck near the footbath 🔭

Himinoe Park Observatory is an observatory located in Himi, Toyama Prefecture. Located in Kita Omachi, it is surrounded by a park rich in nature. The observatory offers a spectacular view of the city of Himi and the Sea of Japan. In addition, admission is free, making it an easy place to visit.

1:15pm Pia Five

Before moving on to the next destination, I wanted to eat croquettes so I went to a fast food restaurant in Himi Banyagai and bought a Himi beef croquettes🐮💖

It also focuses on local production for local consumption, and its Himi beef croquettes and Himi beef minced meat cutlet are very popular.

2:24pm Himi Station

I returned to Himi station by bus~! 🚌

2:32pm Amaharashi Station

Then I moved from Himi station to Amaharashi station~! 🚃

Spot Overview
Amaharashi Station, located in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, is a station on the West Japan Railway Himi Line. The station offers a view of the ocean and great scenery from the train windows. In particular, the Japan Sea seen from the JR Himi Line is strikingly contrasted with the sky. However, the Himi Line is a local line, and it is necessary to check the timetable.

2:40pm Michi no Eki Amaharashi

Found a good place about 5 minutes walk from the station! There is a souvenir shop and cafe on the second floor and you can go to the observation deck from the third floor🔭

Michi-no-Eki Amaharashi, situated in Ota, Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, is an excellent stopover near the station. It is characterized by a pure white, modern building inspired by the shape of a ship. The open-air café offers an ocean view, allowing visitors to enjoy dishes featuring locally harvested seafood, meat, and vegetables. From the observation deck, visitors can also watch the Himi Line train against the backdrop of the ocean, making it a delightful spot for children who love trains.

4:00pm Amaharashi Beach

Go down the stairs to take a walk on the beach 🚶‍♀️ The sound of the waves soothed me 🌊.

Spot Overview
Amaharashi Beach, located in Ota, Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, is a popular beach with shallow waters that are perfect for swimming during the summer. It is a spectacular spot where you can see rock called ‘Meiwa’ and the Tateyama Mountain over the sea. You can be soothed by the sound of the waves while strolling and enjoy the beautiful scenery coupled with the mountains behind you.

I ended up with a spectacular view of this beach! 🌊 I thoroughly enjoyed this solo trip!
