It is a stop on the West Japan Railway Sanyo Main Line and Kyushu Railway Sanyo Main Line, and is located at the westernmost point of Honshu. There is a large commercial complex in front of the station, and there are also souvenir shops and supermarkets on the premises. TABIKAZE(たびかぜ)

The first restaurant is here. It is a 5-minute walk from Shimonoseki Station!
The wooden counter and plants make you feel like you are on a trip. You can also have a lunchtime drink, and the atmosphere is perfect for a quick drink!

Hazy IPA

The first drink was a craft beer. It was crisp and easy to drink!

salted kelp cucumber

The crunchy texture of the cucumber is addictive. The aroma of sesame oil stimulates the desire to drink.

Raspberry Porter

It is a black beer, rich but crisp! It tasted good enough to drink in gulps.
Both beers we drank this time were craft beers from Shimonoseki.

Date’s Avocado Wasabi

The name of this dish has me curious! I always order avocado snacks, don’t I? It was so delicious ✨

Uomasa Honjin(魚正本陣)

Take the bus to the second restaurant. This is a famous restaurant that has been featured in various media.
You can enjoy freshly caught and fresh fish dishes. The combination of local sake and local fish was irresistible✨

Junmai Daiginjo Uomasa Glass

Shimonoseki’s first sake. It has a sweet taste and is easy to drink for everyone, making it the perfect first sake.

Kitaura raw sea urchin

The owner’s recommendation! The sea town is the place to be, fresh and really tasty ✨Maybe the best sea urchin I’ve ever had!

fried Puffer fish

Pufferfish is a Shimonoseki specialty. It was the first time for me to try fried fugu, and it was very tasty, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside!
It was even better with traditional spices for a change in flavor.

Special Junmai Taka Glass

A little dry, but a good accent for the middle part of the Hashigo-zake. It was my personal favorite flavor!

grilled whale with ginger

Unusual whale gingerbread. The texture is more elastic and crispy than expected! Eating specialties is one of the best parts of traveling ✨

Junmai Ginjo Toyo Bijin Glass

It was mild on the palate and easy to drink. The delicious food made me want to drink more and more.

We took the bus back toward Shimonoseki Station to the last restaurant. Again, we were served Shimonoseki sake.
I have enjoyed dishes that go great with sake, such as an overly luxurious dish of oysters and crab miso, and boiled fish that soaked up the flavor.

Gangi Mizunowa & Yellowtail amberjack simmered fish (A dish made by boiling the head and other parts of the fish that remain after it has been cut down)

The third and last restaurant on the list of “Hashi-zake”! Mizu-no-wa has a refreshing taste that you can drink in big gulps!
Aradaki is well seasoned and tastes great with rice!

Oyster Crab Miso Butter

Collaboration of oyster and crab miso! In addition, the ogoi butter tastes like sin. It was a rich flavor perfect for sake.

baked oyster

Each piece of meat is huge! When I took a bite, the milky flavor of the oyster filled my mouth and I felt like I was going to drown! Shimonoseki Hashigo-zake is the best✨
