Susukino Ice World - Susukino Site of Sapporo Snow Festival

Susukino Ice World is an ice festival renowned as the Susukino site of the Sapporo Snow Festival. Approximately 60 ice sculptures stand in the heart of Susukino, Sapporo's entertainment district, where visitors can closely admire crystal-clear artworks hand-carved by skilled artisans. The main attraction is the "ice sculptures with real fish," where actual fish are frozen inside the ice, captivating many tourists with their fantastical beauty that has continued to mesmerize visitors over the years.

At the annual ice sculpture competition, chefs and cooks compete with their skills, and visitors can observe the creation process using chainsaws and chisels. When night falls, the lights of the neon district reflect off the ice, creating a completely different fantastical landscape from the daytime view, making it a beloved unique winter tradition that can be enjoyed in the city center.
