Sanbutsudo Rinnoji Temple, a Heian-era World Heritage site, houses three buddha statues and a 500-year-old cherry tree. It’s the largest wooden structure in East Japan.

About the event

・This product is the admission ticket to Sanbutsudo.Sanbutsudo Rinnoji Temple, an Important Cultural Property and World Heritage, was built during the Heian period. It’s one of the few temples in Japan that use the structure of Tendai Mikkyo.

It's the largest-scale wooden building in Mt. Nikko and East Japan. The temple nowadays is rebuilt by Tokugawa Iemitsu in 1645.

Kongozakura Cherry Tree in front of Sanbutsudo is speculated to be about 500 years old and designated as a Natural Monument.

Sanbutsudo houses two sets of three buddha statues - Amida, Senju-Kannon and Bato-Kannon.
