This time, I went izakaya bar hopping in Yurakucho and Shimbashi (Shinbashi), where a drinking alley sprawls beneath the JR train tracks between them. These areas are said to be the districts of Tokyo’s salarymen! I liked the atmosphere, enjoyed drinking while hearing the sound of the train! Yurakucho Station (有楽町駅)

Let’s start izakaya hopping! I will explore under the guard that leads to Shimbashi.

Spot Outline

Yurakucho Station is located in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. It is served by the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line (JR East) and the Tokyo Metro.

Bimi Sennari (美味千成)

The first stop is Bimi Sennari, located under the guard just outside Yurakucho Station. It’s a long-established shop with a history dating back to the 1964 Olympic Games. The place reopened in 2017 with a beautiful interior!

The atmosphere is excellent, the friendly staff creates a very welcoming environment, so even if you are alone, you will feel comfortable!

Draft beer: 350 yen for a medium beer mug (Happy Hour price)

Normally priced at 550 yen, but during Happy Hour, a common offering at many izakayas in Japan, drink prices are discounted during specific hours throughout the day!

Appetizer: Macaroni salad

Appetizer was 200 yen.

Motsu with Ponzu sauce: 480 yen

Refreshing with grated radish on top, the motsu (offal) was plump and delicious!

Grilled corned beef potatos with cheese: 600 yen

Hot corned beef with lots of cheese pairs well with beer! The portions are quite generous, so sharing is recommended! ✨

Oolong hai (Shochu with Oolong Tea): 250 yen *Happy Hour price

Normally, it’s 400 yen! Happy Hour is the best izakaya offering!

Bimi Senari is an izakaya located in Yurakucho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo. Located just a short walk from Yurakucho Station, it is a long-established restaurant that has been in business since 1964.It was renovated and reopened in 2017, and the interior is very clean. It has a good atmosphere and a good reputation for its cosy atmosphere. The friendly staff makes it easy to come in.

Yakiton Mako-chan (やきとん まこちゃん ガード下酒場)

The second stop: A popular shop in Shimbashi! Yakiton (grilled pork on skewers) with secret sauce is very popular!

Crowded with many salarymen, I’m sure you’ll be impressed not just by the ingredients, but also by the delicious taste of the sauce!

There were both table and counter seats! It was quite spacious inside, so it seemed that a large number of people could also fit in.

Hatsu (chicken heart): 145 yen

I heard that the secret sauce is delicious here, so I ordered it with sauce. The thick and sweet sauce was very tasty✨

Smashed Cucumber Pickles: 340 yen

Sesame salt garlic flavor! It is addictive!

Hatsu sashimi: 600 yen

Seasoned with sesame oil and salt. Top with plenty of scallion salt and garlic, if desired!

Tsukiji Kanemasa (築地かねまさ)

The third stop is a standing style izakaya shop offering fresh seafood at reasonable prices, just right for a quick drink before going home.
