Travel Itinerary

Yoikigen(よいきげん)

The first restaurant we visited was a 3-minute walk from the Shinsaidaiji-cho Station, a streetcar stop.
Here you can enjoy dishes centered on fresh seafood from the Seto Inland Sea!

The restaurant has both table and tatami room seating, and there is also a second floor.

The seats look like this

Interior

There are tables and seats with a relaxed Japanese atmosphere.

Menu

Japanese food is available from set menus and kamameshi (Japanese rice pilaf cooked in an iron pot) to snacks!
You can go out for lunch or dinner, or you can go out for a drink like I did!

Cuisine Menu

Set meal with rice cooked in a Kamameshi

Drink Menu

Medium draft beer ¥550

Again, we toasted with beer! The soda, chilled to a crisp, sinks in.

Deep-fried tofu ¥500

My favorite, deep-fried tofu!
It had so much nori on it and grated daikon… it was so good I want to try it again✨

Morokyu (cucumber with miso paste) ¥420 and Hekiten (Soja) ¥770

Various cuts of kikyuri and mechama moromi miso (Miso with a distinctive crunchy texture).
Each cucumber had a different texture depending on how it was cut, which made it fun to eat!
And Soja sake! It was the type of sake that comes crisp but has a slight aroma afterwards.

Kouchinken(廣珍軒)

The second restaurant we visited was a two-minute walk from the Shinsaidaiji-cho Station, a streetcar stop.
Visit a long-established Chinese restaurant established in 1924.

Food samples already look delicious…

Interior

The first floor is a spacious restaurant with large tables and chairs!

This is the kind of Chinese cuisine that allows plenty of room on the table even if you order a lot of dishes.

Shochu high, Shikuwasa (Japanese citrus fruit) ¥400

I thought about what to pair with Chinese food, and this time, I went with a refreshing Shikuwasa!
I prefer Shikuwasa to lemons…

Guangdong gyoza (Dumpling) ¥500

The skin is thin and glutinous, and the dumplings are filling inside. The gyoza were so well matched with the vinegar and soy sauce that I finished all five of them in one sitting!

Shochu high, plum ¥400

The second cup was plum! I personally like the combination of Chinese and plum…

Steamed shrimp gyoza ¥500

I enjoyed grilled and steamed gyoza in one day!

Menu

I get tired of taking pictures! The menu is so extensive ✨that you can eat whatever you want to eat!

Momotaro Shoten(桃太郎商店)

Interior

There is a counter and table seating, and the atmosphere of a good ramen restaurant.

Menu

This restaurant is a ramen shop by day and a tavern by night!
It is also possible to come here to have a drink and finish off the meal with ramen.

Draft beer: ¥380 per glass

At the end of the day, you’ll want to drink beer again. Beer does not betray you!

Spring roll ¥280

It was so hot that I got burned, so be careful when you eat it…
