I went to Minato 83 Banchi in Numazu Port in Shizuoka Prefecture.
We ate a lot of delicious deep-sea fish and took a peek into the secretive world of the deep sea.
A must-see for fish lovers! Whether you’re traveling with family, on a date, or alone!

Travel Itinerary

10:50am Numazu station(沼津駅)

Starting from Numazu station!
Take the bus to Numazu Port.
It takes about 20 minutes to get there by either Tokai Bus or Izu Hakone Bus.

Spot Outline

Numazu Station, located in Numazu City, is a station of the Tokai Railway Company (JR Tokai) and Japan Freight Railway Company (JR Freight). There are many commercial facilities and restaurants around the station, making it a popular destination for tourists. It is also easily accessible to Numazu Port, which can be reached in about 20 minutes by Tokai Bus or Izu Hakone Bus.

First, let’s get hungry.
The theme is “A Town to Taste Suruga Bay.” Cheap, tasty, and good service! The restaurants are all here.
With an aquarium and attractions, you can enjoy the whole day here!

Sushi, hamayaki (Seafood barbecue where ingredients are grilled over charcoal), rice bowls, hamburgers, Italian food, cafes, etc… There are also attractions and an aquarium with a deep-sea theme!

Visit this restaurant where you can grill seafood and shellfish from Numazu Port and deep-sea fish from Suruga Bay on a stove.

Hamayaki Shin-chan is a restaurant located in Senbon Minatomachi, Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture. Directly owned by Samasa Suisan, which has been in business for 100 years, the restaurant serves seafood and shellfish from Numazu Port and deep-sea fish from Suruga Bay, which are grilled on a stove.

12:00pm Bakery La Torretta(ベーカリー ラ トレッタ)

Next, I went to a café I had been curious about.
A bakery with an integrated workshop where you can enjoy bread made from the finest Italian wheat.

They have over 40 varieties of bread!

Numazu Meggisu (Pseudochromidae) Fried Sandwich ¥378 (tax included)

The fried sandwiches made with Numazu’s famous “Megisu” fish, which can only be found here, are a must-try when you come.
It was delicious!

About 300 yen per bottle!

This product, which is made from a single loaf of French bread, is also available in half sizes.

We purchased the popular Keema Curry Bread, Croissant, Condensed Milk Stick, and Numazu Meggis Fried Sandwich✨.
My personal favorite is the fried meggis sandwich. The savory fries and tartar sauce are a perfect match.

12:20pm LOCO MARINO Coffe(ロコマリーノコーヒー)

We came to a cafe across the street.
This barista-style cafe serves carefully brewed, flavorful coffee and original smoothies.
Bread purchased at La Torretta can also be eaten in here! (One drink is required)

I think I can relax.

1:00pm Numazu Port Deep Sea Aquarium(沼津港深海水族館)

Next, visit the world’s first aquarium dedicated to the deep sea.
The museum has a collection of deep-sea creatures caught in Suruga Bay, the deepest bay in Japan, as well as valuable creatures that are difficult to view.
Once there, you will be fascinated by the deep-sea life and want to go back!

Suruga Bay Aquarium

There was a big crab called the Japanese giant crab, which was 3 meters long.
This tank, which recreates the deep-sea world of Suruga Bay, is one of the highlights.

They say it has lived for 350 million years without changing its shape!

Numazu Port Deep Sea Aquarium, located in Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, is an aquarium specializing in the deep sea. More than 100 species of deep-sea creatures caught in Suruga Bay and other precious creatures are always on display, including rare deep-sea fish.

Next, visitors will enjoy a ride-on attraction that takes them on a captive exploration of 24 species of deep-sea creatures in a two-seater exploration pot!

At the end, you will receive a card with a list of successful captures.
It was a fun experience that enthralled both children and adults and made them want to complete the deep-sea creatures!

THE DEEP SEA WORLD is a shooting attraction located in Senbon Minatomachi, Numazu City, Shizuoka Prefecture, where you can explore and capture deep-sea creatures in a two-person search-and-rescue vehicle. The fee for one ride is 800 yen, and you can get a 100 yen discount if you show your Aquarium ticket on the day of your visit.

2:30pm Italian Restaurant PORTUS(ポルトゥス)

Eat and eat until the end!
Here, you can enjoy dishes using seafood landed at Numazu Port and local Italian cuisine.
It can be used for various occasions such as dates and special occasions.
