A new summer highlight is coming to Azumino, as the 19th Azumino Fireworks Festival lights up the night sky on August 14. This year's display is themed "From Azumino to the Future," featuring around 4,000 fireworks, including music fireworks and an extra-large starmine, blooming over the city. Viewing tickets and advance parking passes have been on sale since July 1.
Event Overview
Date: August 14, 2026 (Friday), 7:00 PM–8:00 PM (launch begins around 7:15 PM)
Venue: Around Gohoden Backwater Pond, on the Akashina Sai River floodplain
Highlights: Music fireworks launch in time with rhythm and melody, and wide starmine fill the sky. The finale's extra-large starmine wraps the venue in a spectacular display of light and sound.

Note: Traffic restrictions will be in place around the venue from 3:00 PM to 9:30 PM on the day of the event.

Viewing Tickets

A viewing ticket is required to enter the fireworks venue where food and drink vendors are set up (see the venue map).
If the event is canceled, ticket costs will be refunded.

Access
Temporary parking is limited, so visitors are encouraged to use public transportation or the shuttle bus. After the event, the JR Shinonoi Line will run additional trains.
