BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai, the large-scale mixed-use complex in front of JR Kannai Station combining a hotel, live viewing arena, shops, and offices, is marking its first summer since opening this past March with a new festival. "BASEGATE Natsu Matsuri" runs from Saturday, July 25 through Monday, August 31, 2026.
Built around the complex's "old meets new" concept, the festival brings a first-ever bon odori dance event, a night market with food from around 20 stalls, and a range of cool indoor activities and limited-time summer menus designed to help visitors escape the heat.

Kannai Yoichi Night Market — About 20 Food Stalls
Central Plaza hosts a lively night market featuring around 20 food stalls, each offering a signature festival dish such as shaved ice or unique skewers. Alongside the bon odori dance and a music stage happening at the same time, visitors can enjoy a summer evening at "Kannai Yoichi."

One stall to look out for is Roto Brewery Tap & Kitchen's "Kezuri Ichigo" (¥800), a shaved ice made by shaving a whole frozen strawberry.
Mikoshi Assembly for the "Kannai Matsuri"
The mikoshi (portable shrine) used in the "Kannai Matsuri," held at the nearby Bashamichi shopping street, will be assembled on site at BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai — a rare chance to see the traditional assembly process up close, accompanied by a taiko drum performance. The mikoshi will not be paraded within the BASEGATE grounds, as this takes place before its consecration ceremony.

Kannai Music Legacy: Cool Evening Jazz for the Summer Festival
Local music groups and live houses in the Kannai area present this concert as part of an ongoing effort to energize the neighborhood. This edition features a sunset jazz performance by clarinetist Atsushi Miyawaki and pianist Anna Matsuoka, both past Grand Prix winners of the "Chigusa Award" hosted by the jazz café Chigusa in Yokohama's Noge district. OMO Rangers from ＜OMO7 Yokohama by Hoshino Resorts＞ will also be on hand to introduce Yokohama's music scene.

BASEGATE Bon Odori — A New Summer Tradition for Kannai
BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai was built on the former site of the Yokohama City Hall, an area that was once home to a lively fish market. Guided by the neighborhood's themes of "succession," "renewal," and "creation," the complex is holding its first bon odori dance event this summer under the "old meets new" concept, with dancers forming a circle around the site's long-standing camphor tree.

Ryosai Gourmet Fair — Cool Dishes from About 50 Stores
Around 50 stores across BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai are offering cooling dishes for the summer as part of the "Ryosai Gourmet Fair." Visitors who follow the official BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai Instagram account and like a featured "Ryosai Gourmet" post during the campaign period are entered into a drawing for one of three ¥10,000 BASEGATE Yokohama Kannai dining and shopping vouchers.

Summer Wonderia 2026
Wonderia Yokohama Supported by Umios is holding its first-ever summer event in a cool indoor setting designed to spark visitors' curiosity. Highlights include updated in-facility video and app content, a "Wonderia Exploration Kit" useful for kids' summer research projects, and a "Summer Night Discount" offering ¥500 off the regular adult admission ticket after 5:00 PM.

Stadium Yoko Bar Gai, a food and drink zone with 34 stalls offering a mix of international cuisine and an alleyway bar-hopping feel, hosts a two-night-only "DJ Festival" combining music, drinks, and a variety of food.
