Chubu Centrair International Airport (located in Tokoname City, Aichi Prefecture) operates the "Samurai × NINJA Airport Project" to promote the attractive tourism resources of samurai and ninja in the Chubu region and attract foreign tourists. As part of this initiative, ninja send-off ceremonies are held on the 22nd of every month.
Samurai × NINJA Airport Project
February 22 is a special day when all the 2's align - both "Ninja Day" (Nin-Nin-Nin Day) and "Cat Day" (Nyan-Nyan-Nyan Day)! From February 21 (Saturday) to February 23 (Monday, National Holiday), 2026, the airport will come alive with ninja teams, airline staff dressed as ninjas, Centrair's original character "Mystery Traveler Foo" in ninja costume (hereafter "Ninja Foo"), and Tokoname City's popular mascot character "Tokotan" through send-off ceremonies, stage events, and booth exhibitions!
Event Overview
(1) Departure Flight Send-off in Collaboration with Airlines
The "Tokugawa Ieyasu and Hattori Hanzo Ninja Squad," "Ninja Foo," and airline staff dressed as ninjas will send off departing passengers from Centrair at the gates, distribute novelty items, and take photos with guests.

(2) Send-off for Meitetsu Train Departing at 2:22 PM on February 22
In collaboration with Nagoya Railroad, the ninja squad, "Ninja Foo," and Tokoname City's mascot character "Tokotan" will send off a special train.

The event stage will feature departure ceremonies by the "Tokugawa Ieyasu and Hattori Hanzo Ninja Squad," "Ninja Onmitsu-tai," and airport staff, as well as ninja shows by "Shinobi-shu Kabuki ~ KABUKI ~" to showcase the appeal of ninja.
On the 22nd, "Cat Day," there will also be a PR stage highlighting the charms of Tokoname City.

(4) Ninja Experience Booths and Other Exhibits at Event Plaza
Ninja experience booths from the Chubu region will gather at Terminal 1, 4th Floor Event Plaza! In addition to "blowgun experience" and "ninja costume wearing experience" booths, the Iga-Ueno Tourist Association will offer an "Iga-ryu shuriken throwing experience" booth. On the 22nd, Tokoname City's cat goods and Nagoya Railroad's original railway goods will be sold in limited quantities.

(5) February 21 to 23 Ninja Day Limited Event! "Nin-Nin Lucky Draw" - Get Limited Original Goods!
A guaranteed-prize lucky draw will be held at the 4th Floor Event Plaza "Nin-Nin Lucky Draw" booth! Participate in the draw with a receipt of ¥2,000 or more (tax included, combined total allowed) from all shops within the airport and win limited goods!
