From August 10 (Monday) to August 27 (Thursday), 2026, Umekita Park in Grand Green Osaka hosts "Summer Cool: Cloud Sea Retreat," a special event marking JAM BASE's second anniversary, organized jointly by JAM BASE, MUIC Kansai, VIE Inc., and PIMT Inc.
Last year's event drew around 500,000 visitors, with 98% saying they wanted to return, and the event was well received overall. This year adds a new interactive twist alongside VIE's neuro-music and giant cloud sea display: PIMT's mobile unmanned vending robot service, PIMT-0, will sell drinks on-site, and each purchase triggers a special performance.
The PIMT-0 initiative was also selected for a problem-solving program run by MUIC Kansai, and is being carried out as part of an open-innovation program that aims to create new businesses addressing social challenges through collaboration among companies and organizations.
Event Background
As summer heat in Japan's cities grows more intense each year, expectations are also rising for public spaces where people can easily stop by and refresh both body and mind. Summer Cool: Cloud Sea Retreat is an urban retreat event that combines brain science, music, mist, and light to create a moment of calm attunement in the middle of the city. At the venue, Umekita Park in Grand Green Osaka, a giant cloud sea display paired with VIE's original neuro-music turns the space into a refreshing summer escape by day and an immersive, dreamlike experience by night.
Last year's event drew about 500,000 visitors over its run, earning high marks across the board:
- Want to visit again: 98%
- Felt relaxed: 92%
- Enjoyed the music: 82%
Building on that response, this year's event adds a range of new features designed to make the city's summer even more enjoyable.

Highlights
A Giant Cloud Sea Returns to Grand Green Osaka

A dreamlike mist display envelops the entire plaza — cool and refreshing by day, and lit up for a fantastical scene after dark.
A Roaming Vending Robot Sets the Mist in Motion

A robot-style vending machine roams the park, and buying a drink from it triggers a special performance — a new kind of urban space that invites visitors to stop and linger on a hot summer day.
*The mobile unmanned vending robot operates only from August 19 (Wednesday) to August 25 (Tuesday), 4:00 PM to 9:00 PM.
*Operations are subject to change or temporary suspension without notice.
A Space for Attunement, Powered by Brain Science and Music

VIE's neuro-music plays throughout the venue. Built from natural sounds and gentle fluctuations, the soundscape creates a comfortable atmosphere that feels far removed from the bustle of the city.
*Neuro-music refers to music designed to enhance or reduce specific brainwave bands, with effects on brainwave activity that have been scientifically demonstrated through listening. It is composed to influence the mind and body, with benefits such as improved focus and relaxation.

Looking Ahead
PIMT-0 is creating new purchasing experiences in urban commercial areas and at transportation hubs such as airports, while meeting a wide range of needs. Through continued trials and rollouts, the project aims to build a sustainable business model and further improve social acceptance.
Looking ahead, plans call for expanding into support for people with limited access to shopping in rural areas, as well as developing overseas sales channels to bring high-quality Japanese products and content abroad.
Each PIMT-0 unit carries a numbered logo, starting with PIMT-1, PIMT-2, PIMT-3, and so on. Visitors who spot one around town are welcome to check its number and share a photo on social media.
