Bandai Namco Filmworks is releasing "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel 40th Anniversary Blu-ray BOX" (Special Limited Edition) on April 29, 2026, to mark the broadcast of the new Studio Pierrot magical girl anime Magical Sisters LuluttoLilly and the 40th anniversary of the Pierrot magical girl series. The set is priced at ¥39,600 (tax included).
Three additional Anniversary Blu-ray BOXes from the same series are also scheduled for release:

About "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel 40th Anniversary Blu-ray BOX"
The set collects all 52 TV episodes of Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel, which originally aired from July 1983 to June 1984, across 7 main Blu-ray discs. The 4 OVA works — "Eien no Once More," "Long Goodbye," "Lovely Serenade," and "Curtain Call" — are included on 2 bonus Blu-ray discs.
The package also comes with a special booklet. The bonus discs feature newly recorded content, including a newly produced theatrical screening trailer for "Eien no Once More," as well as clean OP/ED collections, a digital gallery (still images), and more.
Audio commentary tracks are recorded for 9 episodes, 2 of which (Episode 13 and Episode 50) are newly recorded for this release. Voice cast members including Takako Ota (the voice of Yuu Morisawa / Creamy Mami) and Yuu Mizushima (the voice of Toshio Otomo) participate in the commentaries.
The package further includes a walnut BOX featuring newly drawn illustrations by character designer Akemi Takada, along with newly drawn inner jackets by Studio Pierrot.
※ The main content of this release is the same as the "Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel Blu-ray Memorial Box" released in May 2014 (catalog number: BCXA-0880), excluding new video bonus content, new audio commentary tracks, and the new booklet.
Story
Yuu Morisawa is a lively 10-year-old girl. One day, after rescuing a fairy named Pino Pino from a dream storm, she is granted magical powers for a limited time as a token of gratitude. Able to transform into a slightly older version of herself, Yuu makes her debut as the mysterious idol singer Creamy Mami. Her double life — kept secret from everyone around her — begins and lasts for one year.
About Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel
The TV series aired in 52 episodes on the Nippon TV network from July 1983 to June 1984. Its enduring popularity led to 4 OVA releases following the TV series: "Eien no Once More," "Long Goodbye," "Lovely Serenade," and "Curtain Call."*
The series featured screenwriting and series composition by Kazunori Ito (Urusei Yatsura, Mobile Police Patlabor), character design by Akemi Takada (Mobile Police Patlabor, Kimagure Orange Road), art direction by Shichiro Kobayashi (Lupin the Third: The Castle of Cagliostro, Revolutionary Girl Utena), and chief direction by Osamu Kobayashi (Dokonjo Gaeru, Kimagure Orange Road).
A pop-up store, "Pierrot Magical Girl Series MEMORIAL POP UP STORE in Ikebukuro," was held from January to February 2026. A follow-up event, "Pierrot Magical Girl Series POP UP STORE – Tokimeki Photo Studio," is scheduled to be held at the Shinjuku Marui Annex 2F Event Space from June 2026.
*"Lovely Serenade" and "Curtain Call" are music clips consisting of re-edited highlight scenes from Creamy Mami, the Magic Angel.
