The 5th Day the Expo Night Sky Becomes Art 2026, organized by the Expo Fireworks Project Executive Committee, will be held on Saturday, November 21, 2026 at the East Plaza of Expo Commemoration Park in Suita, Osaka.
Billed as the last large-scale fireworks event of the year in the Kansai region (see the note below), the event fills the late-autumn night sky with about 15,000 fireworks, music, and drones. In its fifth year, it will present drone art themed on the Tower of the Sun for the first time, along with music fireworks created in a special collaboration with FM802.
The organizers hope the event becomes an annual tradition that families, couples, and friends look forward to each season, and that visitors will find themselves saying things like "We're glad we chose this place for this year's last fireworks" or "Which seat should we try next year?" as they look back on the year under the same night sky.
All seats are reserved. Tickets are on sale through the official website and various ticket agencies.

Note: The claim refers to fireworks festivals with 10,000 or more fireworks launched among those held in the two urban prefectures and four prefectures of the Kansai region in 2026 (as of October 2026, according to the organizer).

Seeing the Tower of the Sun Again, This Time with Someone Special

This year's drone show will include drone art themed on the Tower of the Sun, the symbol of Expo Commemoration Park. Loved by many people for more than half a century since the 1970 Osaka Expo, the tower will appear this year as lights of drones floating in the night sky over the Hokusetsu area.
Visitors can look up at the light art with family or loved ones while sharing memories such as "I came here when I was a kid," and add new memories to a place they once visited.
Fireworks Set to Music Selected by FM802

Takuto Onuki (大抜卓人)
As a special program marking the fifth edition, the event collaborates with FM802, launching fireworks in time with songs selected by FM802. DJ Takuto Onuki (大抜卓人) will also appear at the venue on the day.
Visitors can listen to the music while watching the fireworks spread out in front of them, and take a slow moment with someone special amid busy days.
Choosing a Seat for About 15,000 Fireworks
This year the venue moves to the East Plaza, where a wide fireworks display will spread out directly in front of the audience. About 15,000 fireworks, which the organizer describes as the largest scale in Kansai, will be launched in time with music, along with the latest drone show.
All seats are reserved, so there is no need to stake out a spot, and visitors can take their seats in advance. Seat types are available to suit families as well as couples and other special occasions.
- Panorama Seat: A seat offering a front-facing view of the entire venue. Child pricing is available, which makes it suited to families watching together.
- Premium Front Seat: Located in the front area of the venue close to the launch site, where the fireworks spread out right in front of the viewer.
- Dynamic Seat: A seat from which visitors look up at the night sky to take in the size and presence of the fireworks overhead.
- VIP Seat: A dedicated area with hospitality features including shuttle transfer or parking, a blanket, a dedicated food booth (with food and drink tickets included), and dedicated restrooms.
Sales status, prices, and conditions for each seat are listed on the ticket page of the official website.

Looking Ahead to Next Year
The organizers hope the event becomes a late-autumn tradition for visitors, whether they come as a couple this year, as a family next year, or with the same group every year. Visiting the same place in the same season makes it possible to notice changes and to share words about them. The event aims to be a night that leaves visitors talking about next year on the way home.
