A VR space themed on Fuji-Q Highland has opened to the public, letting anyone experience it for free at any time. HIKKY Co., Ltd. (HIKKY) has been planning and developing the space together with Fuji Kyuko Co., Ltd. (Fuji Kyuko), which marks its 100th anniversary this year, as part of the two companies' joint "XR Annual Project." The space went live on July 27, 2026.
Built on the social VR platform VRChat, the space lets visitors freely enjoy, at no cost and at any time, an attraction that proved popular at Virtual Market 2026 Summer, one of the world's largest metaverse events, held from July 11 to 26, 2026.
The space is more than an archive of that event. It also doubles as a gathering place for the Fuji-Q Highland virtual community that formed after the park's first appearance at Virtual Market. Membership passed 10,000 within about two weeks of recruitment opening, and organizers plan to add new content and events while incorporating community members' feedback. Fans are also expected to take part in planning the park's exhibit for Virtual Market 2026 Winter, growing the VR space together with its community.
A New VR Space for Experiencing Fuji-Q Highland "Anytime"
Fuji Kyuko and HIKKY have been working together on the XR Annual Project to build new customer experiences that combine the real and the digital. As the first step, Fuji-Q Highland made its debut appearance at Virtual Market 2026 Summer in July 2026, where many visitors tried its VR-only attractions.
Rather than let that effort end when the event closed, the VR space released this time continues on as a new space that anyone can visit for free, at any time.
Visitors can experience the attractions that proved popular during the event and enjoy the world of Fuji-Q Highland around the clock, free of charge, regardless of time or place.
Community Passes 10,000 Members, Fans Help Plan the Next Showcase
Fuji-Q Highland's debut at Virtual Market 2026 Summer also gave rise to "FUJIQ VIRTUAL PLAZA," a virtual community for fans to enjoy the park even more.
Membership passed 10,000 within about two weeks of recruitment opening, and the community's Discord channel stays active with both interaction among members and exchanges of ideas with the community's organizers.
The newly released VR space serves as this community's gathering place. Alongside community events, organizers plan to gather members' ideas and opinions on Fuji-Q Highland's XR initiatives and reflect that feedback in future content.
Participation in Virtual Market 2026 Winter has also been confirmed, and community members are expected to take part in planning and discussing the content for that exhibit.
