Seibu-en Amusement Park in Tokorozawa, Saitama is staging its second collaboration with the anime film "The Birth of Kitaro: The Mystery of GeGeGe." The event, titled "Gegege no Yuenchi Part 2," runs from July 17 (Friday) to September 13 (Sunday), 2026. New to this installment are specially drawn visuals created by Touko Yatabe, the film's character designer and chief animation director — a first for a collaboration event of this kind.

The main visual imagines Gegero (鬼太郎の父) and Mizuki in traditional summer attire enjoying a summer festival in the park's Yuhi-no-Oka Shotengai (Sunset Hill Shopping Street). The pair, dressed in jinbei, set the mood for a nostalgic Japanese summer. The event also features newly drawn mini-character illustrations by Yatabe.
Mystery Rally: "Yuhi-no-Oka Summer Brain Teaser"

Gegero and Mizuki visit a lottery booth in the shopping street, only to pull out a mysterious slip of paper that even the shopkeeper doesn't recognize. Visitors join the two characters in exploring the park to solve a series of riddles left by an unknown challenger. Those who crack the case receive a mini acrylic stand set.

Collaboration Food

Summer festival staples make their appearance as collaboration menu items. "Kitaro's Hair-Needle Fry" combines fried potato with fried pasta to evoke Kitaro's iconic spiky hair — a handheld snack perfect for wandering the park.

Returning from the first event is the crowd-pleasing "Medama Oyaji's Secret Dango" in three flavors — mitarashi, Sayama tea, and miso — at ¥850 each. Purchasing any one collaboration food item earns a limited-edition novelty coaster (12 designs, random).

Special Photo Spot
A photo spot recreating a memorable scene between Kitaro's father and mother is set up inside the park. Pair it with the "Gegege no Nazo Collab Cream Soda" available for takeout at Hakurai Grill to fully immerse in the world of the film.
