Gunma Flower Park+ in Maebashi, Gunma Prefecture, which reopened in fall 2025, is holding a first-anniversary event over three days, from Saturday, October 10, through Monday, October 12 (a national holiday), 2026, as a way of thanking visitors for their support.
In response to demand from residents who missed the fireworks tradition from the park's previous incarnation, the park is running a crowdfunding campaign with local businesses to bring back an autumn fireworks display on the night of October 10, teaming up with Maebashi's "Joshu Hanabi Kobo" workshop. The milestone three days also bring a participatory flower-arranging installation using Maebashi-grown roses and a live painting performance by artist Kahou Nakabayashi, among other special programs.
To mark the anniversary, the park is also offering a range of thank-you perks, including the rose giveaway for the first 111 visitors each day and a special ¥1,111 value set.
Also starting October 10, the park's main autumn fair, "AUTUMN BLOOM FAIR," and its night illumination event, "Night Bloom," open at the same time. With the prefecture's largest collection of autumn roses — 5,700 plants — reaching peak bloom, visitors can enjoy elegant autumn scenery day and night.
