Story

The setting is neither this world nor the next — a realm called the Underworld. Forgotten belongings drift into this world and wander as tsukumogami, spirits born from objects, and a single hot spring inn stands quietly within it.

Waking with no memory, the player becomes an employee of the inn. They no longer remember how the job is done, yet their body somehow still knows how to move.

The inn's guests are tsukumogami — objects that finished their purpose in the living world, were forgotten, and took on spirit form. Each of them carries Kegare, a corrupting impurity that eats away at the soul.

Soaking in the hot spring, eating a good meal, and sleeping peacefully gradually washes away a guest's Kegare. But the Kegare that falls away from a guest does not simply vanish — it builds up within the inn and, night after night, returns as supernatural phenomena that assail the player.

Game Overview and Features

The game is built around a tense cycle of repeating days and nights. The story of the Underworld and its Kegare, revealed through interactions with the tsukumogami guests, changes in development and ending depending on the player's choices.

Daytime: Tending to the Tsukumogami as Innkeeper

During the day, the player's role is to look after the tsukumogami guests staying at the inn. Completing tasks and building up conversations with them gradually reveals the Kegare, and the past, that each guest carries.

At night, the Kegare shed during the day fills the inn, and the tsukumogami show a different side of themselves than they do in daylight. Offering help can sometimes save the moment, but kindness can also invite greater danger once night falls.

Character Introduction

Protagonist

An employee who has lost their memory and, upon waking, finds themselves working at the inn regardless. They no longer remember how the job works, but their body seems to have it memorized.

Hina (voiced by Emiri Iwai)

A girl with pale skin and pale hair who carries a fleeting, delicate air about her. She works hard every day at the inn despite her small frame. She speaks in a soft, polite tone, with a composed voice that belies her stature. Calm by nature, she is kind to everyone she meets, and always keeps guests' comfort first, greeting them with a smile no matter the situation. She is older than she looks, though not by an especially wide margin.
