IYA-KEI GLAMPING TOMORI Opens in Tokushima's Iya Valley, One of Japan's Three Most Remote Regions

A new glamping resort has opened in the Iya Valley area of Miyoshi City, Tokushima Prefecture. IYA-KEI GLAMPING TOMORI officially opened on April 25, 2026 (with a soft opening from April 15), offering five privately designed accommodation lodges in one of Japan's three most remote regions. The resort is positioned as a place where guests can "recharge with the power of nature" in comfort.

IYA-KEI GLAMPING TOMORI main area overview

The Iya Valley area is home to well-known attractions such as the Kazura Bridge, Oboke Koboke gorge, and the Hinoji Valley. While these sites attract many visitors, IYA-KEI GLAMPING TOMORI was created with the idea that truly experiencing Iya Valley's appeal requires an extended stay — one that allows guests to feel the power of nature, discover new aspects of themselves, and share special moments with companions.

The Name "TOMORI" and Its Meaning

The name TOMORI (灯り, meaning "light") was chosen with a heartfelt wish — that each guest's stay will become a guiding light (tomori) for their everyday life. That light is meant to connect guests to the people they cherish, and to keep the memory of Iya Valley alive in their hearts until they return.

The resort envisions guests recharging in a variety of ways:

  • Surrendering to the sound of mountain streams amid mystical peaks
  • Savoring locally sourced dishes that tell the story of Tokushima's history and landscape
  • Sharing honest conversation beside the fire under a starry sky
  • Actively exploring the great outdoors of this remote region

Accommodation: Five Lodges, Five Stories

Under the theme "Five Lights, Five Stories," the resort offers five privately designed lodges, each with its own distinct atmosphere.

Dome Tent Lodges (3 lodges, each approx. 71.29 sqm)

Each dome tent features a living space of approx. 38.47 sqm, an outdoor living area of approx. 24.84 sqm, and a private toilet and shower unit of approx. 7.98 sqm.

  • Ai no Tomori (Light of Indigo): A deep indigo-toned space for quiet reflection and self-discovery
  • Sui no Tomori (Light of Green): Forest hues and dappled sunlight for a restorative stay
  • Hana no Tomori (Light of Flowers): Vibrant natural colors to keep the excitement of travel alive

Dining: An Outdoor Auberge in the Wilderness

TOMORI's dinner menu celebrates three premier Tokushima brand meats: Awa Beef, known for its fine marbling and moist texture; Awa Miton pork, prized for its sweet fat and tender meat; and Awa Odori chicken, which has held the top position in Japan for shipment volume for over 20 consecutive years. Two dinner courses are available:

  • Awa Beef + Awa Miton Course
  • Awa Beef + Awa Odori Chicken Course

These signature meats are complemented by seasonal local vegetables, river fish from the clear mountain streams, and Iya tofu — a product of the valley's traditional culinary heritage.

Awa Miton is also served in preparations ranging through bacon and sausage.
