Shueisha Games Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Chiyoda, Tokyo) is changing the release window for JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON, a survivors-royale game originally planned for release in 2026, pushing it back to 2027 so the team can deliver a better experience.

The game will also get its first-ever public playtest at Tokyo Game Show 2026, opening Thursday, September 17, and a new second trailer is out today as well.

The second trailer for JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON is out now.

Release Delayed From 2026 to 2027

JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON is a survivors-royale game in which players become characters from Jujutsu Kaisen and battle a horde of curses and rivals, fighting curses, growing stronger through battle, and competing with rivals to become the last one standing.

The game was originally planned for release within 2026, but the release has been pushed back to 2027 so the team can deliver a better experience. A specific release date will be announced at a later date.

New Trailer Reveals Eight Bosses and a Co-op Build System

In addition to the new key visual unveiled last month at "Juju Fes 2026 -5th anniversary-," the new trailer showcases attacks from each playable character available in the playtest version at the JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON area of the Shueisha Games booth at Tokyo Game Show 2026.

The trailer also reveals pixel-art motion for eight boss characters in total: Naoya Zenin and Kenjaku, both first shown at "Juju Fes 2026 -5th anniversary-," plus newly revealed bosses Junpei Yoshino, Jogo, Mahito, Uraume, Eso, and Toji Fushiguro. These powerful bosses will also appear in the Tokyo Game Show 2026 playtest version, standing in players' way.

One of the appeals of Vampire Survivors is building a unique attack loadout with a variety of weapons and skills as the player levels up, and in JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON this element is reimagined as a "co-op build" system that lets players feel like they're fighting alongside their allies. On leveling up, players can not only power up their own character's basic skill, but also add basic skills from other characters into their own attack build.

Combining the strengths of different allies to create a personal fighting style is at the heart of the game's build-crafting action.

JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON playtest at Tokyo Game Show 2026

At Tokyo Game Show 2026, visitors can try JUJUTSU KAISEN RUMBLE: SURVIVATON's first-ever playtest, experiencing an online battle royale mode for up to eight players.

In this mode, eight players battle it out while competing for points, and the top two point-earners advance to a final head-to-head duel, with the winner crowned champion.

The playtest version being shown features characters and gameplay that are still being adjusted. A survey will also be available at the venue, and visitors who play are invited to share their feedback.

Everyone who registers on the wishlist, and everyone who plays the demo, will receive an original pixel sticker and uchiwa fan set.

The pixel stickers come in ten designs total, depicting the ten characters shown in the game's key visual in pixel art by poncle. Participants receive a guaranteed Yuji Itadori design plus one more design chosen at random from the other nine. The stickers can be used to decorate game devices, and sticking them on the back of the fan lets fans recreate in-game battles against the curses.

The front of the fan features original artwork of Yuji Itadori drawn by MAPPA especially for the game, while the back depicts a battle scene packed with pixel-art curses, inspired by the game.

The playtest champion will also receive a complete set of all ten pixel sticker designs.

At the venue, matches will be broadcast live on the booth screen with commentary from e-sports casters, so spectators can enjoy the game's appeal just by watching.

About poncle

poncle

poncle is a studio founded by Luca Galante, known for Vampire Survivors.

The studio began when Luca Galante started developing games alone during the pandemic, and has since grown into a large international team.

The studio continues to develop games with a focus on strong game mechanics, fair pricing, high replayability, and not wasting players' time.

Even after the unexpected success of Vampire Survivors, poncle has kept growing while holding onto the same founding philosophy: making games that are easy to understand, generous, and that can escalate into "chaos" when played well.

Alongside its own projects, poncle also collaborates with and supports other developers who share a similar commitment to respecting players, maintaining fair pricing, and prioritizing high replayability.

About Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen is written by Gege Akutami. Serialization began in Weekly Shonen Jump issue 14 of 2018 (released March 5 that year) and concluded in issue 44 of 2024 (released September 30 that year). Curses, born from negative human emotions like resentment, regret, and shame, lead people to their deaths. After a powerful cursed object's seal is broken, high schooler Yuji Itadori steps into a world of battles fought over curses.

The manga runs 30 volumes in total, plus a volume 0, "Jujutsu Kaisen 0: Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College." The series has surpassed 150 million copies in worldwide circulation, including digital editions. The first TV anime season aired from October 2020 to March 2021, and the film Jujutsu Kaisen 0, released in December 2021, earned a cumulative worldwide box office of ¥26.5 billion. The second TV anime season aired from July to December 2023 to strong acclaim, and a compilation film covering "Hidden Inventory / Premature Death" screened in theaters in May 2025. That October saw a re-release of the Jujutsu Kaisen 0 film, and November brought a theatrical release combining a special edit of the Shibuya Incident arc with an early screening of the Culling Game arc. The third TV anime season, covering the first half of the Culling Game arc, aired from January through the end of March 2026.
