Kamakura's Traditional House Bagel Shop "Hokukama Bagel" to Host Golden Week Limited Event

Hokukama Bagel, a bagel shop set inside a traditional Japanese house (kominka) in Kamakura, is holding the "Hokukama Golden Week Event" from May 2 (Friday) to May 6 (Tuesday, substitute holiday), 2026. The event runs daily from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

The event brings together freshly baked bagels, outdoor food stalls, and a camping-inspired setting, offering a new way to spend time in Kamakura for families and groups of friends.

Background

In recent years, Kamakura has seen growing demand for content that goes beyond quick food stops — with visitors looking for places to slow down and linger. Drawing on its approximately 700 square meter site, Hokukama Bagel has designed the event around three ideas: a space for dining in nature, activities that adults and children can enjoy together, and a community gathering place open to the local area.

This event is the first initiative in that direction, timed to coincide with the Golden Week holiday period.
