New Ferry Route "Oishi Park Line" Connects Kawaguchiko's Funatsu Pier and Oishi Park Starting July 17, 2026

Fuji Goko Kisen Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Fujikawaguchiko Town, Minamitsuru District, Yamanashi Prefecture), part of the Fujikyu Group, is launching a new ferry route called the "Oishi Park Line," connecting the popular sightseeing spot Oishi Park with Kawaguchiko's Funatsu Pier, starting Friday, July 17, 2026.

Located on the shore of Lake Kawaguchiko, Oishi Park is a beloved destination for visitors from Japan and abroad, known for its lavender, kochia, and seasonal flowers set against a sweeping view of Mount Fuji. The new route offers a fresh way to reach Oishi Park by water. On clear days, passengers can take in views of Mount Fuji from the lake and enjoy the open, breezy feel that only a boat ride offers, turning the trip itself into part of the sightseeing experience. The existing sightseeing boat "Appare," which tours the wider lake, continues to operate as before, while the new "Oishi Park Line" runs as a shuttle route between Funatsu Pier and Oishi Park. The addition of this route expands transportation options and is expected to help ease the crowding on local buses that has become an issue amid overtourism in the area. Beyond serving as everyday transportation infrastructure, the Oishi Park pier is also expected to serve as a means of movement and transport over the lake in the event of a disaster, adding to the diversity of evacuation options in the region.

To coincide with the launch of the new route, a new combined ticket called the "Kawaguchiko Ropeway & Oishi Park Shuttle Set" will also go on sale, pairing the Mt. Fuji Panoramic Ropeway with the new boat route. The set ticket combines the sweeping views from the ropeway with a cruise offering views of Mount Fuji from the lake, making it easier to enjoy the highlights of the Kawaguchiko area.

Going forward, Fuji Goko Kisen plans to continue offering ways to experience the charm of Lake Kawaguchiko from the water, connecting the region's tourism resources through a variety of boat-based experiences, and working to improve circulation and tourism value across the Kawaguchiko area.
