An interactive flying car event is set to take place on Akashimachi-suji, the street running along the east side of Daimaru Kobe, on March 28, 2026. The event is co-hosted by Kanematsu Corporation, a company founded in Kobe, and Daimaru Kobe, and is part of Hyogo Prefecture's initiative to promote the practical use of flying cars.
Following demo flights at last year's Osaka-Kansai Expo, flying car technology is steadily moving from a future concept toward real-world application. This event aims to share what that future might look like for Kobe and Hyogo, offering visitors a chance to see, learn, and enjoy the possibilities firsthand.
The street will be transformed into a pedestrian zone for the day, hosting model displays, video screenings, VR experiences, workshops, and stage talks. Food stalls will also be on site. Admission is free, so feel free to stop by while shopping or out for a stroll.
