Kobe no Tobira (神戸のとびら) is a destination-based travel platform run by the Kobe Tourism Bureau. It has begun selling a new "Photo Lesson" program at Kobe Suma Sea World, where participants can enjoy the powerful, dynamic performances of the aquarium's orcas while learning tips for capturing motion shots from a professional photographer.
Photo Lesson With 東京カメラ部10選 Photographer 木村知佳: Shoot Orcas and Dolphins, Try Sunset Action Photography Too
- Date: Sunday, September 27, 2026
- Capacity: 15 people, first-come, first-served
- Price: ¥8,900
Photographer 木村知佳 leads this program, using the orca and dolphin performances at Kobe Suma Sea World as subjects for learning the fundamentals of motion photography. Through hands-on practice, participants learn key techniques for photographing moving subjects, such as shutter speed and ISO sensitivity, and can check their shots on the spot and receive advice suited to the situation.
Later in the program, participants make use of the light and atmosphere unique to dusk to try photographing the orcas at sunset. If the weather cooperates, the program wraps up with photography of the park's illuminated "BE KOBE" monument together with the after-sunset scenery. The program is designed for anyone from first-time action photographers to those looking to sharpen their skills.
