Masaho Anotani's Solo Exhibition "Tempty Crowd Empty Cloud Service Everyday" Opens at OIL by Bijutsu Techo Gallery in Shibuya

OIL by Bijutsu Techo Gallery, located on the 2nd floor of Shibuya PARCO, is holding a solo exhibition by artist Masaho Anotani titled "Tempty Crowd Empty Cloud Service Everyday" from October 2 (Friday) to October 25 (Sunday), 2026.

Overview

Anotani is an artist who creates using painting, sculpture, performance, and other methods suited to the moment, drawing on information and sensations gathered from daily life and observations of nature. Based in a nature-rich environment, he currently explores the fundamental questions of "what is the self" and "what is the world" through nonverbal forms of expression.

The exhibition centers on colorful works, featuring more than 30 unique pieces alongside edition works. The exhibition title likens the way the works come together to clouds, rhythmically layering images such as the crowds that overflow city streets, the innocent clouds floating in the natural world, and cloud services — an unseen, somewhat empty world that spreads out beyond the screens of smartphones and PCs.

In an age overflowing with things and information, where people often compare themselves to others, this exhibition offers viewers, through its many works, a moment to pause within their daily lives and reflect on themselves.
