ZAUNTED Inc., the company on a mission to turn spaces across Japan and beyond into haunted houses under the banner of "social good through horror," is teaming up with Regional Creation Nagasaki to open Nagasaki Stadium City's very first haunted house.

Called "Oshigurui," the walk-through horror attraction is produced by Michael T. Yamaguchi, a horror creator born and raised in Nagasaki.

About producer Michael T. Yamaguchi

Michael T. Yamaguchi was born in Nagasaki and has been involved in entertainment since childhood, creating "Pandora's Box," a haunted house that local residents still talk about today. After later debuting in Tokyo, he continued working toward "social good through horror," producing a "world's youngest haunted house" at the Nagasaki Shinchi Lantern Festival and at a kindergarten in Kinkai. He has also handled special effects makeup himself, contributed to red-carpet productions for Hollywood films such as "Resident Evil" and "The Walking Dead," worked on productions in Hawaii, and turned numerous celebrities and idols into zombies. Most recently, he produced what has been billed as the Kanto region's largest haunted house at CR FES 2026, drawing large crowds.

Message from Michael T. Yamaguchi

"Nagasaki is a world-renowned sacred place where foreign cultures took root, and it raised this uniquely creative person that I am. I'm truly happy to be able to send a new type of haunted house themed around Japanese culture — not just fear — out into the world from Nagasaki Stadium City, a place built on the hope of regional revitalization, contribution to the future, and a sense of unity. I hope this unforgettable, vivid experience becomes a source of imagination and creativity for everyone."

During the event, Michael T. Yamaguchi is scheduled to make in-person appearances along with photo greetings and other related events. Check the official Nagasaki Stadium City website for the latest updates: https://www.nagasakistadiumcity.com/event/49911/

About horror idol group Akushukai

Horror idol group Akushukai's current members

Akushukai is a horror entertainment IP that fuses horror, Japanese culture, and attraction experiences, with Michael T. Yamaguchi even handling the group's music production. Its "cute yet scary" members — Purikira, Jakkuru, Orantan, and Kyandeddi — are more than horror characters: they carry cuteness, madness, longing, and a desire for transformation as they send out messages about overcoming hardship and fear on the way to becoming who they want to be.

The group's debut single was released worldwide, and has expanded into music videos, dance, live shows, greeting events, a fan club, and now this attraction. Rather than simply running from fear, fans step into fear to meet the idols they support — a distinct "oshi-katsu horror" concept that turns horror from something meant only to scare people into a world of longing, being cheered on, and growth.
