Ofuro Café Karinnoyu, located within the farm resort THE FARM in Katori, Chiba, will hold "Mellow Sauna Day," a sauna event with relaxation as its theme, on Thursday, November 12 and Thursday, November 19, 2026.
Following the "Mellow Sauna Day" held in August, this edition takes "enjoying herbs" as one of its themes and expands the programs that use herbs grown at THE FARM.
A "Herbal Aufguss" using herbs from the farm is planned in the mixed-gender sauna room. In addition, the mixed-gender sauna, which is normally set at around 80°C, will be set to about 70°C all day.
Rather than pursuing strong stimulation or intense heat, the day is about spending time at your own pace, surrendering to scent, sound, hot water, and gentle warmth. The event is aimed at loosening the mind and body with the bounty of the farm during the change of seasons, when the fatigue of summer still lingers.

A Herb-Filled Sauna Day Made Possible by a Farm Resort
The "Herbal Aufguss" uses herbs cultivated at the farm on the grounds of THE FARM. Staff select the herbs to suit the season and the day's conditions, spreading their scent throughout the sauna room along with the steam.
Closing your eyes and taking a deep breath brings out the fresh scent of the plants themselves. The program offers the natural fragrance of herbs grown on the farm, which differs from aroma oils.
The aufguss brings plants grown on the farm into the sauna experience right next to where they were grown.
Herbal Aufguss Scented with Freshly Picked Herbs
The "Herbal Aufguss" uses herbs cultivated at the farm on the grounds of THE FARM. Staff select the herbs to suit the season and time of day, spreading their scent throughout the sauna room along with the steam.
Herbs are combined according to the day, such as a crisp, refreshing scent during the daytime and a scent that invites slow, deep breaths in the evening.
Because the aufguss is held with the sauna room set to a lower temperature than usual, it is also easy for sauna beginners to take part.
