A sweet potato festival is coming to Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture. "Oimo Fes FUJICITY 2026" (おいもフェス FUJICITY 2026) takes place for the first time at the Event Plaza of Fuji City Central Park from Friday, October 23 to Sunday, October 25, 2026.
Sixteen sweet potato shops from across Japan gather at the venue. Along with comparing yakiimo (roasted sweet potatoes) and sweet potato sweets, visitors can talk with producers and join activities that parents and children can enjoy together.
"What should I try first?" "Which sweet potato should I take home?" The excitement starts even before arriving, making this a fitting autumn outing. Here is a look at what to expect at the venue, along with ticket information.
Start with whatever catches your eye. You can savor the sweetness and texture of a yakiimo, or pick sweets that show other ways to enjoy sweet potatoes, such as Mont Blanc desserts and daigaku yakiimo. With specialty shops from around the country in one place, it is a chance to look for the flavor that suits you best.
Choosing different items with family or friends and sharing impressions is part of the fun of a tasting comparison. Preferences such as "moist" or "fluffy" may well get the conversation going. A gourmet area serving meals and alcohol is also available, so you can have a meal between sweet treats. Sixteen sweet potato specialty shops from across Japan take part.
Shops from around the country, including yakiimo specialty shops and sweet potato sweets shops, set up in the National Oimo Area. The appeal is being able to compare, all at once, the sweetness, aroma, and texture that come from differences in growing region, soil preparation, and roasting method.

For an autumn weekend of seasonal flavors or a family day out, the first Oimo Fes in Fuji City offers a chance to find a favorite sweet potato and a relaxing moment.

At "Oimo Photo," visitors draw their feelings about sweet potatoes and what they enjoyed that day, then have a commemorative photo taken with their own one-of-a-kind picture.

The bonfire area offers a marshmallow-roasting experience, where waiting for the marshmallows to toast becomes a special time with family and friends. The marshmallow experience costs ¥200 per session.
Visitors with the free ticket printed on the flyer can exchange it at the bonfire area on site.
Radio F Livens Up the Venue
Radio F (ラジオエフ), a popular radio station in Fuji City, will liven up the venue on the day.
The MC on Saturday is Kaori Horie (ほりえかおり), and on Sunday it is Hiromi Sano (佐野ひろみ).
