Yokosuka is inviting residents to help make the city shine. On October 31, 2026, "Pokémon Pikapika-dan with Yokosuka City" comes to City Hall Front Park — an event where participants dress up as Pikachu to pick up litter around town, giving kids and adults alike a chance to enjoy themselves while thinking about keeping their community clean.

How to Apply
- Who can join: Applicants must meet all of the following conditions:
- Live, attend school, or work in Yokosuka City
- Want to clean up Yokosuka with their own hands and be ready to take action
- Be at least 5 years old as of Saturday, October 31, 2026 (children age 4 and under cannot take part)
- Elementary and junior high school students may not join on their own — every group must include at least one guardian
- Fee: Free
- Capacity: Approximately 100 participants (groups of 1 to 5 people); a lottery will be held if applications exceed capacity
- How to apply: Through the e-Kanagawa online application system (applications by paper form or phone are not accepted)

About Pokémon Pikapika-dan
All participants put on a bib, tongs, gloves, and other yellow items to dress up as Pikachu while picking up litter together. The trash bags used for collecting litter are designed to look like Poké Balls, Great Balls, and Ultra Balls once they're filled and tied up.
The event is held together with the Pokémon With You Foundation as part of Yokosuka City's ongoing efforts toward environmental beautification. Through awareness campaigns and cleanup activities, the city is working to give residents a chance to see everyday environmental issues as their own and take action.
Alongside this event, Yokosuka City is also holding a lecture by Sakana-kun, a talk event on reducing plastic waste aimed at building a beautiful Yokosuka for the future through both learning and hands-on cleanup activities.
