A collaboration event between the online mahjong game Riichi City (麻雀一番街) and the TV anime Kakegurui xx starts on October 22.
Four characters from the anime join Riichi City as collaboration characters: Yumeko Jabami, Mary Saotome, Kirari Momobami, and Ririka Momobami. The collaboration runs from October 22 to November 20.
Riichi City is a competitive online mahjong game developed and published by Formirai Co., Ltd. Its signature feature is that players compete in mahjong matches using a character of their own choosing.
Kakegurui xx, this time's collaboration partner, is an anime set at a prestigious school where social rank is decided by gambling. An election campaign to become student council president begins, and protagonist Yumeko Jabami and the Momobami clan face off in extreme games.
The newly recorded in-game voices are provided by the same voice actors as the anime: Saori Hayami, Minami Tanaka, and Miyuki Sawashiro.
Each character can be obtained by drawing them through limited recruitment and then used in matches. Awakening a character lets players switch to a "Dress" outfit.
A limited-time collaboration outfit, "Bunny Girl," will also be on sale. Collaboration-exclusive items debut as well, including riichi sticks, mahjong table backgrounds, titles, and winning-hand effects.
Each character comes with many unique voice lines. Players can enjoy a variety of character reactions and special effects when winning a hand, winning by self-draw (tsumo), scoring a yakuman, and more.
Multiple events celebrating the collaboration are also planned. Simply logging in earns 3 Mahjong Vouchers for free.
