Sekai Ennichi (世界縁日), a festival that connects worlds through food and culture, will be held at Nakanoshima Park in Kita Ward, Osaka, from Saturday, October 10 to Monday, October 12, 2026 (national holiday). It is organized by COMMONs and co-hosted by The Yomiuri Shimbun, demoexpo (demo!expo), and VISIONs Co., Ltd.
Sekai Ennichi is one of the main programs of "COMMONs 2026," a festival of future creation that COMMONs is holding in autumn 2026, one year after the close of the Osaka-Kansai Expo. COMMONs 2026 consists of three programs: Sekai Ennichi, a festival connecting with the world; COMMONs College, a place of learning for future creation; and HELLO, WORLDs., an exhibition. Sekai Ennichi reinterprets the traditional Japanese "ennichi" (a festival where people gather to trade, play, and exchange culture) for the present day.

The venue will feature "yatai" stalls and food trucks offering the food and culture of countries and regions around the world as well as Osaka and the Kansai region. A "Yagura Stage," the symbol of the festival, will stand in the center of the venue for music, dance, and performances. The festival also includes attractions such as the "COMMONs PASSPORT," which visitors enjoy while walking around the venue, making the stroll itself part of the experience. From evening into the night, the festival aims to create a new nighttime culture originating in Osaka through music, food, and lighting.
Ennichi Stalls Connecting the World
The venue will be lined with shopping and food stalls themed on countries and regions including the United States, the African Union, Italy, India, South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Syria, Switzerland, Thailand, the Czech Republic, Nepal, Pakistan, the Philippines, Jordan, and Luxembourg, along with food trucks serving the food of Osaka and the Kansai region. "いのちの遊びや クラゲ館 (steAm)," which was born at the Expo, is also scheduled to exhibit.
Stalls for classic ennichi games such as shooting galleries and ring toss, as well as an official shop, will also be on site. Visitors can collect stamps placed around the venue with the "COMMONs PASSPORT," one of the attractions that make walking through the festival an experience in itself.
Yagura Stage
At the "Festival Yagura" (お祭りやぐら), the symbol of the festival, standing in the center of the venue and the event stage, music and performances will be presented over the three days.

Building on "Sekai Yokocho"
In October 2025, just after the Expo closed, demo!expo held "Sekai Yokocho" (世界横丁) at Utsubo Park in Nishi Ward, Osaka.
At the event, people from around the world whom the people of Osaka had met through the Expo gathered again in the city to eat, drink, and enjoy music together. Approximately 50,000 people visited over the two days, and the scene suggested that the international connections born from the Expo are not confined to the Expo site and could grow into part of Osaka's urban culture.
Building on that experience, demo!expo is taking on a new format called Sekai Ennichi in 2026, working together with COMMONs, a new team that emerged from the Expo. Drawing on its network with the world built through the Expo and its experience organizing events in Osaka's city center, demo!expo is participating in producing the event, centered on international partnerships with countries and regions around the world and on food, culture, and stage programs.
