Sekigahara Stone Osaka Showroom Opens June 1, Bringing a New Stone Experience to the Kansai Region

A new two-story showroom dedicated to architectural stone materials will open in Osaka's Chuo Ward on June 1, 2026. The Sekigahara Stone Osaka Showroom is located a 3-minute walk from Tenmabashi station and was designed by the internationally recognized Teruhiro Yanagihara Studio.

Design Concept: Light, Shadow, and Stone

The space is built around the concept: "To look into darkness is to find depth; to look outward is to discover light." This idea captures the contrast between the weighty, enduring presence of natural stone and the delicate expressions it reveals under changing light.

Much of the interior is finished in a refined gray tone to draw attention to the stone itself. The plastered wall surfaces incorporate sludge—a powdery byproduct from the stone-cutting process at the company's factory, mixed with water to form a paste—as an experimental finishing material. This approach gives the walls a distinctive texture while reflecting an awareness of material circulation and sustainability.

2nd Floor: Drawn by Stone

The second floor serves as an approach area, inviting visitors to encounter natural stone through direct sensory experience—touching surfaces, feeling the weight, and sensing the temperature of different materials.

Wall surfaces feature stones from KISEKI, a natural stone luxury brand, including selections from the in-house Strad. line: the vibrant Rosso Orobico and Maniruble, and the deep, dignified Marin Black and Black Tempest. Stones from the Italian brand Antolini—Aqua Terra CC, Irish Green, and Rouge de Savoie—are also showcased throughout the floor, with varied sizes and surface finishes on display.

3rd Floor: Clarity in Light

The third floor is a practical space for comparing materials and planning. A sample library covering the walls displays more than 550 varieties of natural stone, ceramic tile, and quartz stone. In addition to the KISEKI brand's Strad. and Antolini collections, the floor features ULTRA—a large-format ceramic tile suited to dynamic design expressions—and SAPIENSTONE, a kitchen countertop material known for its combination of functional performance and refined appearance. A large meeting table allows visitors to examine colors and textures up close and envision how different materials would appear in an actual space.
