Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium, a facility built around creating new connections between people and the sea, is hosting "THE WAKEY AQUARIUM," the first collaboration event of its kind at an aquarium anywhere in Japan, together with "The Wakey Show," an edutainment show that explores science, nature, and art through songs, dance, and games, from July 17 (Friday) through October 18 (Sunday), 2026.
From August 31 (Monday) to October 18 (Sunday), the aquarium is hosting "THE WAKEY AQUARIUM Colorful Sea Party," packed with experiences found nowhere else — from a special collaboration version of "Sparkling of Life," where about 25,000 Japanese sardines move in dynamic schools, to a colorful stamp rally collecting stamps of the Wakeys characters placed throughout the facility. Visitors can watch, learn about, and play with sea creatures, making it a special time for the whole family to create memories together.
The event brings the charm of the ocean to life alongside the Wakeys, the main characters of "The Wakey Show." Since the content changes between the summer and fall runs, visitors can enjoy something new no matter how many times they come.
Sparkling of Life – THE WAKEY AQUARIUM Edition
In the large tank "いのちきらめく うみ," which recreates the rich waters of Sanriku, about 25,000 Japanese sardines take the lead role in "Sparkling of Life," a premium show known for its dynamic schooling movements — now in a special collaboration version. The tank, 14 meters wide and 7.5 meters deep, is home to around 50 species and 30,000 animals, including Japanese sardines and hoshiei. With no roof, natural sunlight pours directly in, bringing out the animals' true, vivid colors.
Set to "Bun Bun Bun!," a song from "The Wakey Show," the sardines swim gently at times and energetically at others, captivating visitors with their fluid, synchronized movements.

Colorful Stamp Rally
Stamps of the Wakeys characters appear throughout the aquarium. Collect them all on the stamp card and aim to complete the set! Everyone who fills the card receives an event-limited mini notebook. Explore the aquarium while searching for the Wakeys along the way.

Coloring Can Badge Craft

Wakey, Mosso & Popin Visit! "Wake-Up Aquarium"
On September 27 (Sunday), Wakey, Mosso, and Popin will visit Sendai Umino-Mori Aquarium.
At the "Wake-Up Aquarium" event, limited to 150 guests, Wakey, Mosso, and Popin will appear in front of the large tank before the aquarium opens to the public, dancing together with visitors to "ウー！ミー！アミーゴ！" for a special morning experience. (An online reservation ticket is required.)
After opening, Mosso and Popin will also appear at Umino-Mori Stadium, performing "ウー！ミー！アミーゴ！" together with the sea lions.
