The Senshu Beach Lantern Festival (泉州ビーチランタンフェス) Vol. 7 is set for July 4 (Saturday) and 5 (Sunday), 2026, at SENNAN LONG PARK and Tarui Southern Beach in Sennan, Osaka. Doors open at 12:00 PM each day, with the lantern launch scheduled for 8:00 PM.
Three Color Lanterns for a More Vibrant Night Sky
This year marks the introduction of two new special colors. In addition to the familiar orange lanterns, red and blue options will be available — colors that evoke the memorable palette of the Osaka-Kansai Expo year. Attendees can pick their preferred color and send their wishes drifting into the night sky above the beach. Color selection is on a first-come-first-served basis.
A Myaku-Myaku statue will also be on display at the SENNAN LONG PARK venue during the festival.

Activities
A dedicated activity area will run throughout the afternoon before the lantern launch. Returning favorites include traditional festival game stalls (縁日) and a large inflatable bounce house for kids.
New this year are two special programs making their festival debut. A treasure hunt invites participants to search for hidden prizes buried in the sand, bringing a sense of excitement and discovery. A water gun battle rounds out the summer fun — open to adults and children alike, and best enjoyed without worrying too much about staying dry.
Performance Stage
Live performances are scheduled twice per day — once at opening and again in the early evening. Top-tier street performers will take the stage alongside local performing groups to build excitement ahead of the evening lantern launch.
Handmade Market
A marine-themed keychain workshop will be on offer throughout the event, open to visitors of all ages and skill levels. The keepsake made during the workshop can serve as a small memento of the night the lanterns rose over the sea.
Volunteer Staff Recruitment
