Kanata Seisakusho Co., Ltd. (headquartered in Tondabayashi, Osaka Prefecture; President Naoya Kanata) is holding a pop-up for its original furniture brand SWITCH at the "akinai Osaka" event space on the 2nd floor of KITTE Osaka, the commercial facility directly connected to JR Osaka Station. The pop-up runs for five days, from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21 (holiday), 2026. Throughout the run, a workshop for making cushion covers from leftover sofa fabric will also take place every day.
The pop-up is part of a program of pop-up sales and workshops by operators certified under the "Osaka-Made Brand," promoted by Osaka Prefecture and the Osaka Industrial Promotion Organization (a public interest incorporated foundation).

Five Days to See, Sit, and Touch Before You Decide
SWITCH makes everything from sofas and chairs to tables, shelves, and small items to order, with more than 90 fabric options available. Even the same chair looks completely different with a different upholstery.
At the same time, because every piece is made to order with about a month of production time, chances for customers to experience the furniture in person have been limited. This pop-up is meant to close that distance. The space is styled around a mid-century atmosphere, arranged to feel close to everyday living, so visitors can check for themselves the sitting comfort, wood texture, and fabric feel that photos alone cannot fully convey.

Make Your Own Cushion Cover From Fabric Scraps
Throughout the event, a workshop called "Make Your Own Original Cushion Cover From Sofa Fabric Scraps" will be held every day.
Furniture production inevitably leaves fabric scraps after cutting. The colors, patterns, and textures vary piece by piece, and while it feels wasteful to discard them, participants get to combine them into a 45cm patchwork cushion cover. The work on the day is limited to choosing and arranging the fabric; the company's craftspeople sew and ship the finished cover afterward.
No two combinations turn out the same. Fabric scraps that would otherwise have left the factory become part of a visitor's own room, depending simply on how they are chosen — a chance to experience, hands-on, the kind of time that flows through a furniture workshop.

Temporary assembly — the on-site work goes this far
An Osaka Factory, Set Down in the Middle of Osaka Station
Kanata Seisakusho runs its factory in Tondabayashi, where craftspeople assemble each piece of furniture by hand. Products normally reach customers through the company's showroom, online shop, and retailers nationwide, but this time they are being brought to a spot that many people pass through every day: directly connected to JR Osaka Station. "When the KITTE exhibition was decided, it was our in-house craftspeople who were happiest about it," says President Naoya Kanata. The pop-up offers a chance to encounter Osaka manufacturing at a distance where the faces of the people who make it are visible.
