Umamiike Hill Park (馬見丘陵公園), which straddles Koryo Town and Kawaicho in Nara Prefecture, will host the "Nigiwai Marche in Umamiike Hanashobu" (にぎわいマルシェin馬見花菖蒲) as part of the Yamato Hanagoyomi 2026 series of seasonal flower events.
During the event period, approximately 30,000 iris flowers (花菖蒲) across around 100 varieties will be in full bloom. The selection includes cultivars passed down from the Edo period, varieties with distinctive names, and types featuring unusually shaped blossoms — offering a remarkably diverse floral display.

Adding to the scenery, some 4,000 hydrangea (アジサイ) plants are also expected to be in bloom, lending cool, refreshing color to the shaded corners of the park.

A marché (outdoor market) is also planned to take place within the park during the event, making it a well-rounded outing for visitors looking to enjoy early summer in the Nara countryside.
