[Now Open] Yusuke Nakamura Exhibition 2026 in Kanazawa: Exclusive Venue-Limited Goods Revealed!

The Yusuke Nakamura Exhibition 2026 in Kanazawa is currently being held at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Citizen's Gallery B, from April 25 through May 23, 2026. Organized to commemorate the March 2026 release of READ — a comprehensive collection of book cover illustrations — the large-scale exhibition covers nearly the entire body of work by illustrator Yusuke Nakamura. Completed illustrations, uncolored line art, and idea sketches are all on display, offering a rare look at works that can only be seen here.

Exhibition Highlights

The exhibition's standout feature is its side-by-side presentation of "line art" (uncolored sketches) alongside "finished works" — a format unique to this show. More than 320 original pieces are on display, over 100 more than when the exhibition last visited Kanazawa five years ago. Visitors can compare the intricate details of each piece up close and feel the creative process behind each work — an experience only possible at an original art exhibition.

In addition to over 300 finished-work panels, the show includes more than 100 video displays and physical materials. CD jacket art, high school music textbook covers, and confectionery packaging are all featured, tracing the evolution of Nakamura's work and its broad influence across various cultural fields.

SNS Campaign

Visitors to the Kanazawa exhibition are invited to post a photo and impressions related to the exhibition or venue on X using the hashtag #中村佑介展 by May 23. Ten winners selected from eligible entries will receive autographed merchandise by Yusuke Nakamura.

Survey Completion Bonus (Trading Cards)

QR codes for a visitor survey are posted on posters near the venue entrance and exit. After completing the survey and showing the confirmation screen to staff, visitors can choose one trading card from two available designs.

One card features a self-remake of The Night is Short, Walk On Girl — the key visual for the Kanazawa exhibition and the cover of the new book READ — with a comment from Nakamura about the work printed on the back.

The other card features Nippon, an original illustration created for the 2021 exhibition held at the Kanazawa 21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art.
