Itinerary
Day 1: A Journey into Serenity
- 09:00: Your dedicated guide and private vehicle will pick you up at your designated hotel in Fukuoka City.
- 10:00 to 12:00: The retreat begins with a Forest Therapy session in the crisp winter air of the Sasaguri forest. Your guide will lead you on a gentle walk, helping you reconnect with nature and restore a sense of inner calm.
- 12:30 to 14:00: Enjoy a warm and nourishing Shojin Ryori (vegetarian Buddhist cuisine) lunch.
- 14:30 to 16:30: Participate in a private Buddhist practice experience at a temple. Try your hand at Shakyo (sutra copying) and meditation under the personal guidance of the head monk.
- 18:30: Check in to your accommodation for the night — a traditional temple lodging (Shukubo).

Day 2: Prayer and Pilgrimage
- 07:00: Begin your morning with a traditional Shojin Ryori breakfast.
- 10:30 to 13:00: Embark on a guided pilgrimage experience, visiting several temples along the Sasaguri Shikoku 88-Temple Pilgrimage route. Your guide will provide detailed explanations of the history and rituals of this ancient pilgrimage.
- 13:00 to 14:00: Enjoy a Shojin Ryori lunch along the pilgrimage route.
- 14:30 to 15:30: Visit the magnificent Nanzoin Temple, home to one of the world's largest reclining Buddha statues (Nehanzo). In the clear winter light, you will be awestruck by its sheer scale and profound serenity.
- 16:00 to 17:00: To conclude your journey, enjoy a fun Mentaiko (spicy marinated cod roe) making experience at the renowned Yamaya Factory Terrace. Take home your uniquely seasoned Mentaiko as a one-of-a-kind souvenir.
