From May 20 to 26, 2026, two Turkish sweet brands will set up a limited-time shop on the basement first floor Delicious Stage of Abeno Harukas Kintetsu Main Store, Tower Wing. The brands are Nadir Gullu, a historic baklava specialty shop from Istanbul, Turkey, and divan, a luxury confectionery brand served at Istanbul's five-star Divan Hotel.
About Nadir Gullu
Founded in 1843, Nadir Gullu is one of the oldest and most celebrated baklava brands in Turkey — often referred to as the "King of Baklava."
Baklava is a traditional Turkish baked confection made by layering pastry dough with crushed nuts such as pistachios, walnuts, or hazelnuts, then finishing with a buttery syrup. Beloved since the Ottoman Empire era, this courtly sweet traces its origins back to the 15th century and remains a national favorite in Turkey.

Weekend-Limited Item: "Nadir Special Baklava"
A roll-shaped baklava made by wrapping pistachio in pastry dough. It uses more than twice the amount of pistachio compared to standard baklava, offering a concentrated taste of the finest Turkish-grown pistachios.

Craftsmanship

The baklava pastry is layered dozens of times by hand — a technique only achieved through years of accumulated skill. Each stage of the process (dough making, layering, baking, syrup preparation, and more) is handled by a different specialist, meaning each piece of baklava passes through many pairs of expert hands.
Premium Ingredients

Only simple, natural ingredients are used — no preservatives or additives of any kind. Wheat and pistachios are sourced from Turkey through producers the Gullu family has relied on for generations, ensuring the highest quality raw materials. Even when ingredient costs rise, Nadir Gullu has never altered its recipes or substituted key components, upholding its traditional flavor throughout its long history.
Cooking Utensils

The brand's attention to detail extends even to its cooking tools. The rolling pin used to stretch the dough, for example, is made from male pear trees found in a specific region of Turkey. From the starch-dusting brush to the marble tabletop, every item used in production is carefully specified.
