BIRKENSTOCK Opens New Shibuya Concept Store Themed Around the City's "Flow"

BIRKENSTOCK opened a new concept store in Shibuya on Wednesday, July 1, 2026. Set in a district long known for the mix of cultures and sensibilities that pass through it, the BIRKENSTOCK Shibuya Concept Store is the brand's sixth concept store in Japan, following locations in Ikebukuro, Shinsaibashi, and Kyoto. It serves as a new base for sharing BIRKENSTOCK's world while highlighting the brand's presence as a footbed maker in Japan.

The store's design centers on the theme of "Flow," drawing on both the movement of people through Shibuya and the memory of a river that once ran through the area. Benches and display stands are made from cross-sections of natural logs, and the walls are finished in virgin cork, bringing out the rich textures of natural materials. Throughout the space, design details reference the brand's identity, including shelves and stools shaped after BIRKENSTOCK's signature cork-latex footbed and its bone pattern.

Product Lineup

The store carries a wide range of products, from summer sandals and clogs to shoes, the latest collection, and the premium "1774" line.

A dedicated area lets visitors try the "Care Essentials" foot and body care line. Here, green tiles laid in flowing, curved lines evoke water, creating a calm space suited to everyday self-care.

Combining natural materials with a sense of rhythm across its elements, the store offers a place to step away from the busyness of the city and experience the "natural walking" that BIRKENSTOCK advocates.
