Autumn Begins at Takino with a Sea of Pink Cosmos

In the upper area of the Country Garden, cosmos — a hallmark of autumn — have begun to bloom in part.

The hillside will soon be awash in pink as roughly 700,000 cosmos blossoms stand out against the autumn sky. Enjoy the cosmos swaying in the crisp autumn breeze! During the Cosmos Festa period, seasonal craft workshops, food, and music events will also be held.

Cosmos in the morning and midday are lovely, of course, but the scenery just before closing time in the evening is also highly recommended. As the light changes, you can enjoy a different range of colors. Please be mindful of the park's closing time as you enjoy the view.

Full-force outdoor play this autumn at Takino Park! A popular event held at Hokkaido's prefectural parks and other venues, the "Hokkaido Waku Waku Kids Festa" comes to Takino Park! With a "bouncy inflatable zone" featuring 11 giant inflatables, plus a "Working Vehicles Exhibition," an "Insect Exhibition," a "Fossil & Gem Dig Experience," a "Food Area," and more, there's plenty of exciting outdoor fun for kids to enjoy.

Kochia turns a vivid red in late autumn. This soft green stage, before the color change begins, can only be seen for a short time. Visitors can enjoy watching the color gradually shift throughout the autumn season.
