On Saturday, September 26, 2026, Haneda Airport Terminal 2 Station will host a receipt art performance by contemporary artist VIKI, held alongside the Haneda Airport Sky Day Festival 2026. The event is part of the "TOKYO ART & CULTURE" initiative on the Tokyo Panorama Line, which turns stations and train cars into spaces that showcase Japan's contemporary and traditional culture.

Program overview
- Receipt art preview exhibition (through September 25, 2026): A sneak peek of finished receipt art pieces and behind-the-scenes footage of the creative process.
- Receipt art performance (September 26, 2026): Using receipts collected from shops at Tokyo Monorail's Haneda Airport stations, VIKI will create receipt art live in front of visitors. Watch as ordinary receipts are transformed into art. On the day, visitors will also be able to try pasting their own receipts onto the piece, becoming part of the artwork themselves.
- Artwork exhibition (from September 27, 2026, for a while): The artwork created during the Sky Day event will remain on display. Viewing it up close reveals how each individual receipt comes together to form one large work, and visitors can also enjoy watching how the piece continues to change over time.

About the Haneda Airport Sky Day Festival
Every year, Haneda Airport marks "Sky Day" with events aimed at helping visitors feel more connected to the airport, including the opening of facilities not normally seen by the public. Alongside the receipt art performance, Tokyo Monorail will also offer merchandise sales, children's uniform rentals, and mascot character greetings.

About VIKI
VIKI is a Japan-based contemporary artist who graduated from Tokyo University of the Arts' Faculty of Fine Arts in 2022, having studied in the department's Inter-Media Art program. Since 2015, VIKI has created receipt art performances using an iron to draw on receipts, taking advantage of the heat-sensitive properties of thermal paper. Working under the concept of "recycling memories," VIKI collects discarded, unwanted receipts from around Japan and around the world as raw material for these pieces, and has also presented contemporary art works that offer multifaceted interpretations of wine and receipts.
