Miyazaki's First All-in-One Experience Spot "Hinata Base" Opens Near the Station

Right in front of Miyazaki Station, a new spot called Hinata Base is inviting visitors to discover sides of Miyazaki they may not have known: sports displays that bring the energy of local athletes up close, a photo spot that steps into the world of kagura, sweeping scenery and powerful VR footage on a giant screen, and a tasting flight of shochu from all 38 breweries in the prefecture. Whether with family, with friends, or solo, it's a chance to experience the appeal of "Hinata Miyazaki," the sunny side of Japan.

About Hinata Base

Hinata Base is a new hub for sharing Miyazaki's appeal, bringing sports, kagura, shochu, and the prefecture's other celebrated tourism resources, culture, and traditions together in one place.

Main Attractions

Kagura / Mythology Area

Kagura costumes are on display, along with a photo spot for pictures and a corner where AI generates a one-of-a-kind mask image from your own face — experiences found only here, bringing visitors closer to the world of kagura and mythology.

Tourism Area

Try the undama-nage ball toss from Udo Shrine or the musubi-koyori paper-cord experience from Aoshima Shrine, and take in an introduction to sightseeing spots around the prefecture on a large screen of about 160 inches — this area is packed with the appeal of Miyazaki sightseeing.

Sports Area

Uniforms and other items belonging to athletes with ties to Miyazaki Prefecture, including Shigeo Nagashima of the Yomiuri Giants, are on display, along with a photo spot where you can pose as though you were part of the showcase yourself — a reflection of the appeal that has earned the region its "Sportsland Miyazaki" reputation.

Shochu Area

Try a tasting flight of shochu from all 38 breweries in Miyazaki Prefecture, found nowhere else in the country (one glass for ¥200, three glasses for ¥500), along with "Miyazaki Shochu Concierge," which suggests a shochu based on preferred aroma and drinking style, plus a look at how shochu is made. The area is set up to be approachable even for visitors new to shochu.
